Outsourcing to Asia

Practical help in outsourcing to Asia

Advantageous economic conditions are currently encouraging international companies both to establish new operations in Asia and to relocate / outsource existing functions to Asia.

Of the different locations in Asia, Singapore is perhaps the most attractive, as a result of proven stability (both economic and political), excellent technology & communications and its open market approach to business.

The banking market in particular has been quick to take advantage of the opportunity to relocate banking operations and middle office functions to Singapore, in order to benefit from significant cost savings, and the banking market in Singapore is currently booming.

Clearly one of the most important issues for companies looking to outsource key functions to different parts of the world is to ensure they are able to source sufficient talent, with the appropriate levels of skills and experience, to staff the new operation. Tomnay Noble is highly experienced, not only in sourcing personnel, but also in providing initial feasibility studies and timing plans, to enable proper planning and avoid monies being committed before they need to be.

We also provide clients outsourcing to Asia important operational and logistical support, covering things like finding premises to operate from, drawing up contracts which comply with the local requirements for pensions, health plans, holidays, etc, establishing pay structures which take account of local taxation, advising on competitive bonus schemes, etc. We also advise on cultural issues and generally take a pro-active approach to helping in every area of the relocation with which the client would like help.

Even if you are still a long way from making a decision on developing operations in Asia, you may find it extremely useful to have an exploratory conversation to help you better understand some of the issues you need to be thinking about.

If you are interested in finding out more about how we might be able to help you, please call Sue Krishnan skrishnan@tomnaynoble.com on +65 6303 2650.
